The specimen was found in the classic location in the mountains of Bumansfjord, Seiland, Finnmark, Norway. It has a weight of 312 grams, and measures 50 x 92 x 65 mm (height x length x width)
Nice green translucent diopside and translucent cola-brown grossular on white calcite.
Some of the diopsides have damages (the biggest one and the ones on the edge), but there are also a lot of Diopside crystals that are damage free The grossular crystals are damage free.
There are also crystals on the backside, seen on the last picture.
Most of the year the field where the minerals are found is covered with ice and snow, and today this area is now a part of the Seiland National Park, and collecting from this area is now strictly forbidden.
This specimen was found in the late 1980's by my father, Gunnar Mathisen.
