ID 20432
The specimen was found in the classic location in the mountains of Bumansfjord, Seiland, Finnmark, Norway.
The specimen got a weight of 4249 grams, and measures 160 x 195 x 90 mm (height x length x width).
This is not for the normal collector, but rather for museums or for collectors looking for something special. The special with this piece is the size of the diopside crystals, which are huge.
As you will see they are partly weathered, but they are up to 6 cm long. That is by far the biggest diopside crystals I have for sale (and I only have one specimen in my private collection with a bigger crystal).
In addition you will see a lot of brown tiny crystals. If you look with a magnifying glass, you will see that this is actually tiny, nice and translucent Grossular crystals.
This area where it was found (Bumannsfjorden) is now a part of the Seiland National Park, and collecting from this area is now strictly forbidden. This specimen was found in the late 1980's by my father, Gunnar Mathisen.
